Encapsulated Green RO (GRO) membranes are available for 3 types of flow rate: 36, 50 and 75 gpd. Whilst standard RO membranes are performing well at 25% recovery, GRO membranes can give same performances with a recovery up to 50%. More concretely, for 1 liter of pure water produced, a reverse osmosis system using Green RO membranes will release 1 liter of water to the drain only in comparison to others, which will waste at least 3 liters. The use of GRO membranes allows a saving of about 13’000L of water per year.
